With multiple NFL stars on a “contract year” for the 2015 season, one man that won’t have to worry about that is San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers. According to Twitter, the team and Rivers have come to a four-year extension that will last through 2019.

Rivers is expected to have $65 million guaranteed, topping all other current quarterbacks (Rothlisberger had $64 million). The quarterback is now worth $83.25 million dollars, and will be set to prove that he is worth every penny.

Rivers was set to make $15.75 million at the end of the season, but it looks like the Chargers had no intention in letting the 33-year old wear any other uniform.

Rivers has started 144 consecutive games, and ultimately has a dream of winning himself a Super Bowl title. How will the Chargers season play out in 2015? One game at a time is most likely the best solution to that question.
