Anthony Davis has agreed to a 5 year, $145m contract extension to stay in New Orleans. That’s great news for anyone that follows Pelicans’ basketball. One of the first signs of Davis’ return was recently on Twitter, when the following picture was realeased:

Regarded as one of the best players in the league at such a early age, Davis has still yet to reach his peek. For the rest of the league, that can be very scary. Although he hasn’t played more than 68 games, mostly due to injury, it’s what he does on the floor that makes him special.

This past season was great for him, his game grew and you can see he’s a player that can reach the elite status in the next couple of years. Davis averaged 24.4 ppg, with 10.2 rpg and 2.4 blocks per game. In the postseason , he was one of four players to average 30+ pts and 10+ reb in his first four playoff games, joining a impressive list of names like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain and Bob McAdoo.

One thing is for sure that the Pelicans have their cornerstone player locked up for the next five years and if they can upgrade the team around him we can see something special cooking in New Orleans.
