Panthers agree with Barkov on new extension.

The Florida Panthers have agreed to terms with Aleksander Barkov on a new 6 year extension the team announce Monday.
Financials were not disclosed but the Miami Herald reported it’s reported $35.4 million.
” We are thrilled to sign Barkov to a muliti – year contract, ” General Manager Dave Tallon said. ” He is highly – skilled, intellegent and highly skilled young center that play’s a exceptional game on both sides of the ice. Barkov is important to the foundation of our furure and a cornerstone player who is counting to develop to one of the best center’s in the league”.
The Florida Panthers selected Barkov with the 2nd pick in the 2013 NHL draft. His entry level expires July 1st. His salary cap this season is $ 925,000.
The 20 year old has 30 points ( 12 goals, 18 asists ) in 38 games this season with the Panthers and 90 points in 163 NHL games.
Florida ( 28-15-5 ) leads the atlantic division with 61 points and has won 14 of it’s last 18 games.
