Oilers lose Jordan Eberle

Devastating news has rocked the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday as they learned that winger Jordan Eberle will miss 4-6 weeks with a shoulder injury. Eberle sustained the injury during a preseason matchup against the Arizona Coyotes.
The 25-year old rising star took a hit from Kyle Chipchura behind the net during the first period and would not return.
Teammate Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had this to say after the game, “I left the puck for him and he kind of popped it through the guy’s skates. Some guy squished him against the boards. I don’t know exactly the extent or anything, but it’s obviously a big loss for us. He’s a big part of our team and now we just have to try and pick up the slack where it needs to be and we have to play for him.”
Eberle has two points this preseason and lead Edmonton with 63 points in 81 games last year. Edmonton has two more games remaining this preseason. Eberle looks to play with Taylor Hall and prized rookie Connor McDavid.
