On Wednesday, the first hearing for the ongoing case between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor took place in result of the incidents at UFC 229. After defeating McGregor, Nurmagomedov leaped over the cage and attacked Dillon Danis. In addition, McGregor was involved in a brawl with Nurmagomedov’s team.
In result, the NSAC voted on releasing half of Nurmagomedov’s cash he earned, which was $1 million of a potential $2 million, but the real purse is estimated between $5-6 million. This isn’t a one-sided affair, as McGregor may be fined as well. The next hearing is currently scheduled for December, although there is no set date.
The first hearing focused more on Nurmagomedov receiving his money rather than seeing if either fighter would receive an indefinite suspension for the chaos. There should be more details provided during the next session.
