Nick Diaz Training Rumors Emerge

Since serving his two-year USADA suspension, Stockton’s own Nick Diaz hasn’t fought in quite a while. However, that may all change after Gilbert Melendez spoke about Diaz training as of late.

In his bout against Anderson Silva, matters changed when they both were found to have used an illegal supplement weeks before UFC 183. As a result, Silva was handed a one-year suspension, but Diaz was originally given a five-year suspension before that was later changed.

Diaz has illustrated a luxurious career in MMA, defeating former Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler, as well as securing Strikeforce’s vintage Welterweight title.

If Diaz were to return to the UFC and compete in the Welterweight division, it would bring a large buzz. His brother, Nate Diaz, is competing within the same division and is scheduled to fight Anthony Pettis at UFC 239.

This return might not even be true, but it’s common for the Diaz brothers to tease a fight that could be close to happening, only for the fight to be called off for a number of reasons. If these training rumors are true, it would be exciting to see Diaz return to the octagon for the first time in over four years.
