After the NBA suspended the entire 2019-20 season due to the coronavirus, the NHL issued a statement in regards to whether the league continue playing. On Thursday, the NHL announced that the rest of the 2019-20 season will be suspended.
Before the announcement took place, the Columbus Blue Jackets and San Jose Sharks already took action regarding the coronavirus. San Jose announced all three home games in March will proceed against Arizona, Boston, and Montreal, but it will be closed to the general public. Columbus, on the other hand, has announced that every home game for the rest of the regular season will be closed to the general public.
