New York Yankees Acquire Zach Britton


Per reports, the New York Yankees have acquired closer Zach Britton from the Baltimore Orioles. Britton, one of the top relievers on the market, has a 3.45 ERA and four saves this season. It was just two seasons ago when Britton posted a 0.54 ERA and 47 saves.

The Yankees will send multiple prospects over to Baltimore, including right-hander Dillon Tate to Baltimore. Tate, 24, was previously acquired in a trade with the Texas Rangers. Since coming over, Tate has posted a 19-4 record and a 3.09 ERA in two levels of minor league play. This year, he has gone 5-2 with a 3.38 ERA with Double-A Trenton. Tate is #9 in the Yankees Top 30 prospects, according to

Baltimore will also acquire LHP Josh Rogers and RHP Cody Carroll. Carroll, 25, has a 2.67 ERA in four seasons of minor league play. Rogers, 23, has posted a 6-8 record with a 3.95 ERA in AAA this year. He has a career minor league record of 28-19 while posting a 3.16 ERA.
