Nashville Predators and Columbus Blue Jackets have pulled off a big trade. Predators acquiring Ryan Johansen from Blue Jackets for Seth Jones. There is a some time until the trade deadline, and already big trade happened.

In 38 games played, Johansen has 6 goals, 20 assist, with a plus minus of -4. On a bad team like Blue Jackets this season, Johansen has been solid putting up a good amount of points this season.

Johansen is already a proven player in this league at 23 years old. Johansen is a great faceoff taker, winning most of his faceoff battles. He is also a good penalty killing center. Put him as your number one center, and he has the potential to put up more then 60 points every season. Johansen is more known for his playmaking skills, getting assist then known for getting goals.

Predators are getting a great young playmaking center for the first line in Johansen. The team already has the sniper on the wing in James Neal, now with Johansen on the first line. The team got a lot more better, maybe a contender in the Western Conference. Now that Johansen is playing for a playoff team, that will defiantly motivate him at this young age. Helping him become an even better player then he is right now.

Blue Jackets are getting a great young defensemen in Jones. The team really lacks in defense right now, Jones fills that void right away. Jones has potential to be a elite defensemen in this league, him alongside with Ryan Murray are going to be one scary defensive pairing for years to come. Jones was overshadowed with the Predators. Now with Blue Jackets, Jones has a chance to make a name for himself in the league.

This trade makes sense for both teams right now. Predators needed a legitimate number one center in Johansen, and Blue Jackets needed a legitimate top two defensemen of the future in Jones. So it works out for both teams. Right now Predators wins this trade, in the future Blue Jackets wins this trade. Predators are a Stanley Cup contending team, so this team needs to win a Cup in the next few years and the team got a huge piece that will help them in the cup run. Blue Jackets are a rebuilding team, so the team got a huge piece that will help them in the future.
