For quite some time, former two-division UFC Champion Conor McGregor has been teasing a fight between himself and the former UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar. On Wednesday, those rumors resurfaced.
A Twitter post from the UFC on October 16th, which marks the birthday of Edgar, caught the attention of McGregor. As a result, he replied to the post with the following message:
Clearly, Edgar has the intention with entering the octagon with McGregor before the year.
To conclude the exchange, McGregor called upon UFC President Dana White to secure the bout.
McGregor is coming off of a loss to Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, while Edgar recently lost to the Featherweight Champion Max Holloway.
A date hasn’t been set, but with McGregor teasing it for December, it’s bound to be at UFC 245. This is a card that already includes fights between Kamaru Usamn and Colby Covington, Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski, and Amanda Nunes and Germaine de Randaime.
