Marlins Closing In On Edwin Jackson

As reported by multiple news outlets, the Marlins are closing in on Edwin Jackson, the 32-year old veteran.

The contract is said to be minimum, as he is also still owed $13 million from the Cubs who released him last season. His record is 88-107 and owns a 4.58 ERA over his 13 year career.

His best season came in 2009 with the Detroit Tigers when he went 13-9 with a 3.62 ERA.

He also owns a World Series ring from 2011, the year he was traded from the D-Backs to the Blue Jays, and then on the same day he was also traded to the Cardinals.

It remains to be seen whether or not he will be in the rotation. However, he does provide pitching depth. Definitely expect him to compete for a spot during Spring Training.
