Mark Texeria Leads Yankees to Victory, Makes History
Alex Rodriguez and Mark Texeria are arguably one of the best duo’s in baseball right now. Fans of the Yankees as well as critics did not know what to expect from either slugger, and neither party could have predicted how well each individual would preform thus far.
On Friday night, the Yankees started off a series against the Chicago White Sox in which Texeria would would rack up not one, but two home runs. Impressive, right? How about hitting two home runs from each side of the plate?
In the second inning, Texeria would launch a grand-slam off of Carlos Rondon that broke the game open 6-0. Later on, the slugger would connect off of Matt Albers for a two-run shot.
In doing so, Texeria now becomes the only player in MLB history to hit home runs from each side of the plate on 14 different occasions. Texeria was previously tied with Nick Swisher at 13, but ultimately made his mark in history.
The Yankees would finish off the victory by a score of 13-6. If the organization continues to play healthy and at a strategical pace, than there is no doubt they should be able to win the AL East this season.
