Since defeating Douglas Lima at Bellator 192 for the Welterweight title, Rory MacDonald lost to Gegard Mousasi at Bellator 206 and is now is looking to get back to defend his welterweight title against Jon Fitch. His opponent, Fitch, is currently on a 5-fight win streak over the likes of Jake Shields and Paul Daley.

MacDonald and Fitch are both scheduled to be in Bellator’s Welterweight Grand Prix, which will hold their title fight against each other. This tournament also includes the highly-anticipated fight between Paul Daley and Michael Page.

As champion, MacDonald will be forced to continuously defend the belt until the finals. The bout against Fitch is exciting for MacDonald, as he is known for his previous matchups against the likes of Carlos Condit, Demian Maia and Robbie Lawler.

MacDonald is scheduled against Jon Fitch on April 27th in San Jose, California.
