Welcome to ‘Lock of the Day’, where I’ll be representing The Athletes Hub with the latest trends in sports betting. Be sure to check in daily for which bets are considered locks:
Clyde Edwards-Helaire: OVER 57.5 Rushing Yards
In a blowout win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 14, the Kansas City Chiefs relied on a RBBC to run out the clock. The Los Angeles Chargers allow 141.2 rushing yards per game this season, the second-highest total in the league. In their previous matchup on September 26, Edwards-Helaire totaled 100 rushing yards across 17 attempts (5.9 yards per carry).
Patrick Mahomes: UNDER 282.5 Passing Yards
The line is constantly changing leading up to Thursday night, but I don’t believe this will be as high-scoring as fans are hoping. In their first meeting on September 26, Mahomes totaled 260 passing yards and surrendered two interceptions. In fact, Mahomes has only eclipsed the 282.5 mark once in six career matchups against the Chargers. This season, Los Angeles rank fourth in passing yards allowed. Only three quarterbacks have thrown for more than 282 passing yards against this defense this season: Joe Burrow, Kirk Cousins, and Baker Mayfield.
