Lock of the Day: December 15th Sports Bets

Welcome to ‘Lock of the Day’, where I’ll be representing The Athletes Hub with the latest trends in sports betting. Be sure to check in daily for which bets are considered locks:

NBA ’22: 1-2

NFL ’21: 0-0

Franz Wagner: OVER 24.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

In a matchup against the Atlanta Hawks, Wagner should be a relatively safe bet at this mark. He last faced the Hawks on November 15, totaling 19 points, five rebounds, and three assists across 35 minutes played. Wagner has surpassed the 24.5 PRA mark in each of the last five games, which includes matchups against elite defenses such as the Golden State Warriors (No. 1 scoring defense) and Los Angeles Clippers (No. 5). This season, the Hawks are 23rd in scoring defense and have the 25th in defensive efficiency, while scoring at the fourth-highest rate.

Domantas Sabonis: OVER 24.5 Points + Assists

I’ve had previous success betting on Sabonis, and it typically comes from hitting on the over mark. This season, Sabonis has two matchups against the Bucks and is 1-1 on hitting the 24.5 mark for points and assists. He is coming off a December 13 matchup against the Golden State Warriors in which he didn’t record a single assist, but has compiled three or more assists in his previous seven matchups. Giannis Anteokounmpo is already in the league’s COVID-19 health & safety protocols, while Khris Middleton is questionable with a knee injury. I’m relying more on Sabonis’ ability to score from inside tonight.

Miles Bridges: OVER 31.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

In a difficult matchup against the San Antonio Spurs, I’m expecting for Bridges to still see his expected volume. The Hornets lineup is almost fully healthy, with the exception of LaMelo Ball. This is a late play, and bettors should beware.
