LeGarette Blount, New England, agree on one year deal

On Tuesday, running back LaGarette Blount and the New England Patriots agreed to a one year deal to keep him in New England. Blount, who suffered a hip injury on Dec. 6th, had 6 rushing TDs and 703 yards last season. Last season was especially underwhelming not just because of the injury, but because young RB Dion Lewis won the snap battle and became the lead back until suffering a Torn ACL in a game against the Washington Redskins.
Blount was on the 2014-2015 Super Bowl team and was the lead back after Stevan Ridley tore his ACL against Buffalo two years ago. With Blount wanting to show that he’s worth a big money deal at the age of 29, he must get back to his stud 13-14 year, where he had preformed well with seven regular season TDs and 772 regular season yards. In the playoffs, he just gets better with seven career playoff touchdowns and 361 playoff rushing yards.
Blount is a playoff stud and a extremely important part in the Patriots duel back set when healthy. The Patriots were bit by the injury bug last season, and look to rebound to their regular form in 2016. When healthy and with new pieces on the defense, the Pats are a force to be reckoned with.
The Patriots look to move forward as super bowl favorites against a conference with almost no competition with Denver losing pieces and the Steelers still having to prove themselves. This re-signing is key to a possible super bowl team.
