Lane Kiffin Hired as Ole Miss Head Coach

After spending three years as the offensive coordinator at Alabama, Lane Kiffin proceeded to become the head coach of Florida Atlantic. Now, it appears that Kiffin will have another opportunity to coach in the SEC. On Saturday, Ole Miss announced they hired Kiffin as the 38th head coach in school history. Kiffin will replace Matt Luke, who Ole Miss fired in December.
After a disappointing tenure at USC, it took Kiffin three years to get another head coaching opportunity with Florida Atlantic. Since then, he has gone 23-15 and won the Boca Raton Bowl in 2017 against Akron by a score of 50-3.
With less than 7 wins a season and less than 4 wins a season against SEC West teams during Luke tenure, Ole Miss is hoping that Kiffin can turn them into a force in the SEC West.
