Months after suffering a buzzer-beater knockout at the UFC’s 25th anniversary, Chan Sung Jung, the Koren Zombie, bounced-back with a win of his own against Renato Moicano.
A fight scheduled for five rounds only needed one minute when Sung Jung made quick work over Moicano. When he took almost two years off, it was after a loss to the former Featherweight Champion, Jose Aldo.
Does Sung Jung still have what it takes to get back to a title fight in the future? Before the layoff, he could defeat just about any fighter. Based on his track record, Sung Jung holds wins over talents such as Leonard Garcia and Mike Hominick.
Sung Jung has made his mark in the UFC and is getting better with every fight he’s in. Moicano is ranked at #5, while Zombie is ranked at #12.
If Sung Jung has earned a high enough ranking, this can build some huge bouts for the future. We could likely see a scheduled fight between him and Brian Ortega, or a rematch with Aldo could be in play as well.
The Featherweight division is exceeding expectations. The Korean Zombie is worth a Pay-Per-View purchase, as he’s en route to becoming the first Korean champion in UFC history.
