Josh McCown Named Starter For Cleveland

ESPN reported that Josh McCown will be starting this weekend game vs. Arizona Cardinals. McCown is dealing with an injury that he suffered in a week 7 loss to the St Louis Rams. The Cleveland Browns have not announced anything at the time.
In six games this season, McCown has thrown for 1,686 yards, 8 touchdowns, 3 interceptions with a passer rating of 96.1 In a losing season for the team, McCown has not been playing that bad this season moving the offense downfield. Even though he has been doing well there is another quarterback named Johnny Manziel who wants the starting job. Right now, McCown is the best bet performance wise this season.
Even though McCown is not your typical franchise quarterback, he is still a good quarterback. He has a good arm; McCown knows how to move the ball down the field. When McCown is pressured, he is known to get out of the pocket scrambling for a good few yards running the ball. He is at best as a backup quarterback who can come in and play well. He is also a good locker room leader as well.
The team is in a rebuilding stage, so starting McCown right now over Manziel is not the right move. Even though McCown has been performing better than Manziel. The best way for Manziel to get better is if he can get playing time, which is currently being hogged by McCown. The team drafted Manziel to become the franchise quarterback, but letting Manziel sit right now is really bad for his development to become a better quarterback.
