Johnson Released by Colts, Leading to Retirement?

On Friday Morning, the Indianapolis Colts informed veteran wide receiver Andre Johnson that he will be released from the organization.

Following a 12 season run with the Houston Texans, Johnson played a minor role with the Colts for the 2015 season. Producing 41 receptions and 4 TDs, most are implying that Johnson’s days are limited in the NFL. The 34-year old veteran has not been the same since his days with the Texans obviously.

The Colts didn’t particularly make this move because Johnson was bad, they made this move to save themselves a $5 million dollar cap hit for next season. If I were in the Colts shoes, I would have done the same thing.

In his career, Johnson has caught 1,053 passes for 14,100 yards and 68 TDs. Johnson also ranks eighth on a list for most receptions and ninth for yardage.

Will Johnson try out for a new team, or will this be the end for one of the greater WRs in recent memory?
