Jason Pierre-Paul’s Future With Giants

 

 
On Monday, New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul met with the team for the first time since his 4th of July fireworks accident. It was reported that Pierre-Paul said he was “ready to go”, and the doctors found no broken bones in his hand. 

The physical defensive star has yet to sign his franchise tag, but not because he doesn’t want to. The team now must decide if they want to pay Pierre-Paul all of that money, or they could put him on the non-football injury list for the first few weeks. 

The point of this would allow the Giants to save some money, but would also be a slap in the face to Pierre-Paul (and his agent). 

Pierre-Paul will plan on playing with a cast on his right hand. The same hand that he uses to do a three-point stance. This will make it extremely difficult to be seen as a threat, and ultimately doesn’t make him worth almost $15 million dollars. 

What will the Giants decide to do? Invest in their player they’ve had since 2010, or move on to better and younger prospects. With the Giants playing against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night, both sides are on a time crunch to find a solution to this financial issue.
