The biggest criticism towards the NFL preseason involves the injury rate among some of the top players in the league. On Thursday night, this case continued as New England Patriots offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn tore his Achilles and is now scheduled to miss the remainder of the 2018 season.
Wynn, who declared for the 2018 NFL Draft from the University of Georgia, was selected by the Patriots with the #23 overall pick. Projected as an eventual starter, this only hinders New England’s offensive line as the new campaign approaches.
After being sacked 35 times last season, Tom Brady will once again have the odds stacked against him. In fact, those 35 sacks were the fourth-highest amount in Brady’s eighteen-year career.
The New England Patriots will play their typical song of the “next man up” approach, but Isaiah Wynn will surely be missed at certain points this season.
