In the UFC, President Dana White is constantly seeking ways to improve main events. On Thursday, a direct quote from White is now leading fans to believe UFC 249 will emerge as one of the top MMA events of the year.

In an interview with ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, White revealed that the UFC was attempting to put together a fight between Francis Ngannou and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

Ngannou has already gone through precautionary testing for the Coronavirus and is prepared for a potential fight in April. With a record of 14-3, Ngannou is currently riding a three-fight win streak over Curtis Blaydes, Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos.

As for Rozenstruik, he is currently undefeated in the UFC, holding a professional record of 10-0. Each of his last five bouts have ended via KO/TKO.

UFC 249 is currently scheduled to take place on April 18th, headlined by Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson. In the co-main event, Jessica Andrade will take on Rose Namajunas.
