Is Kyle Busch the Greatest in NASCAR History?

This is a controversial topic, as many don’t give Kyle Busch enough respect in the NASCAR community. While some may give Busch the cold shoulder, we should all hand him credit for what he has done for the sport. While Richard Petty holds 200 wins and 7 championships, he raced when NASCAR held 3-4 events per week. Meanwhile, Busch currently contains 193 wins across the top three Championship Series: Monster Energy Nascar Cup Series (50), Xfinity Series (93), and the Camping World Truck Series (51).
Even at the lowest stage of his career, Kyle Busch won the Cup Series Championship after missing a large portion of the season with a broken leg. While he didn’t technically run full-time in his return, Busch still ran it nonetheless, and finished with one of the best averages in the company.
Kyle Busch has proven that he is one of the best NASCAR has had to offer, and should be in the conversation with legends such as Rusty Wallace, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, and countless others. Even in his later stages, Busch has overcome some of the younger stars in the industry like Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson, and Chase Elliott.
Since the Cup Series playoff was implemented in 2014, Kyle Busch holds the most amount of wins. Busch also holds the record for most Xfinity Series race wins, and is tied with Ron Hornaday Jr for most Camping World Truck Series race victories.
Kyle Busch is regarded as one of the best racers in today’s game, but is still severely underrated. Not only does he have 193 total wins, but also holds 631 top ten finishes, and 117 pole awards. At the age of 33, Busch is second in wins among current active racers. The only racer Busch trails is Jimmie Johnson, and yet somehow Busch is 11th all-time for wins in NASCAR history.
Kyle Busch is on top of the Stock Car racing world, and is notoriously known as part of the “Big 3”, along with Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr. By the end of his career, the real conversation will involve Kyle Busch as the best racer of all-time.
