For those that watched the UFC’s Fight Night event in Stockholm, Sweden, the main event was between two Light Heavyweights in Alexander Gustafsson and Anthony Smith.

The fourth round saw Smith take the back of Gustafsson, syncing in the rear neck choke and eventual victory.

Gustafsson preciously hinted about retiring if he couldn’t defeat Smith, and did just that on Saturday afternoon. Prior to his loss to Smith, Gustafsson suffered defeat to both Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier.

With Gustafsson retiring, it will raise Smith’s stock as a contender in the Lightweight division.

Over the course of his UFC career, Gustafsson holds wins over the likes of Jimi Manuwa, Glover Teixeira, Jan Blachowitz and Rua.
