Game 2 of NBA Finals Recap

 

 
Solely by the number of shots taken, I would have believed that LeBron James was up there with Kobe Bryant in attempts. James did end up grabbing himself 39 points, 16 rebounds and 11 assists in game two. Warriors’ Stephen Curry on the other hand, played at par tonight, with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by the end of game. 

Throughout the course of game two, it wasn’t that the Cavs were taking control, it was that the Warriors were beating themselves on foolish mistakes. The lack of defense itself could have caused the Warriors to put themselves in a position to lose the game in regulation at home to tie the series 1-1.  

After James missed a last second shot for the game-winner, the game was taken into overtime for the second time in the series. James arguably carried his team throughout the game based on his leadership and points alone, but would it be enough to overcome the Warriors? 

With 10 seconds remaining in overtime, the Warriors would find themselves trailing 94-93 with possession. The Warriors chose to put the ball in Curry’s hands, and it just wasn’t his night. Curry would go onto miss the 19-foot jumper and James would seal their fate for the night. 

Curry and James combined for a total of 57 shots, which landed them with an uninpressive 28% from the field. 

All in all, the Cavaliers would go onto win by a score of 95-93. After both of the first two games went into overtime, fans are on the edge of their seats for game three.
