After the Los Angeles Lakers had fired Luke Walton and lost Magic Johnson, the team announced on Saturday that Frank Vogel would be the new coach. In addition, Jason Kidd has been hired as an assistant.

Vogel has been the assistant coach to teams like the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia Sixers and the Indiana Pacers. He was then promoted by the Pacers and transitioned to the Orlando Magic. It was reported that Vogel has received a 3-year deal.

Kidd has played for the Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, New Jersey Nets and the New York Knicks. After he retired, Kidd coached the Brooklyn Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks before earning the job with the Lakers.
