Fantasy Football: Player Profile Justin Forsett
What started out to be an aging receiving corps, with Torrey Smith and Steve Smith, Torrey Smith is now out and the Ravens drafted Breshad Perriman as his replacement. The backfield hasn’t changed much, Lorenzo Taliaferro seems to still be the backup, and they drafted Buck Allen in the fourth round. Taliaferro and Allen could see some carries, but won’t steal a whole lot from Forsett. Forsett got 235 of the Ravens 498 attempts last year. I don’t see any reason Forsett can’t or won’t put up similar numbers next year.
Justin Forsett is the number one back in Baltimore. He had all the stats I like to see in a running back. He was a little dry in the touchdown department with eight last year, but he had 1,266 yards. He also averaged 5.4 yards a carry, and that’s where I like to see guys. Marshawn Lynch only averaged 4.7 yards a carry last year. The new personnel that has been brought in doesn’t really hurt Forsett’s value. I have him ranked at No. 16 among running backs, and 35th overall. He’ll be a strong FLEX option and will be a good guy to plug in when your top two backs go on bye weeks. If he falls past 35th in your draft, take him.
