For the first time in nearly four months , Bryant’s agents and Cowboy front office officials met in hopes of striking a long-term deal. The two sides have until July 15th to complete a deal, if not, Bryant must sign the franchise tag tender for a cool $12.83 million dollars. He has threatened to miss regular season games until a long term deal is signed, however, the team would have to wait until the season is over to make a deal.

Analysis: Dez Bryant is still going to be a great option to have this year. I am confident a deal will get signed before the mid-July deadline. I am also confident that the threats to sit out of games isn’t serious, because he will miss out on over $750,000 dollars in doing so. Owner and General Manager Jerry Jones has not taken the threats seriously, and has even stated how confident he is that Bryant will come back and be the leader that we all know he is capable of being. We will continue to monitor the situation and give updates along the way.

Jameis Winston, QB Tampa Bay Buccaneers

According to Head Coach Lovie Smith, Jameis Winston has been everything the Bucs have hoped for. Coach Smith has had about a month to work with the number one pick, and has liked what he has seen so far. Smith even described him as “a gym rat-football junkie”. Other veterans such as Vincent Jackson described him as “quiet”, but shows glimpses of the leadership that was described by his college coaches and teammates.

Analysis: This is good news for fantasy owners who have drafted him already or have been eying him. The potential is there for this guy, and he has two big options in Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans. Not to mention, rookie Austin Seferian-Jenkins at tight end. Winston is poised for big games, and if you have room on your squad, take him and monitor his numbers closely.

Latavius Murray, RB Oakland Raiders

According to Mr. Painter, Murray has stated that he has what it takes to be a complete back. He feels that he knows his blocking assignments, and believes he can be a threat in the backfield. Murray has also said he feels comfortable in new Offensive Coordinator Bill Musgrave’s power run system. He’s also been more humble at times stating that he needs to get better everyday.

Analysis: After spending his rookie year on the injured reserve, last year was the first year we got to see Murray preform. The Raiders did add some veterans to the roster such as Trent Richardson and Roy Helu. Now, it’s up for debate if these moves were made to have a RBBC backfield or to add depth in case of injury. Nothing has been said yet as far as if and who will be the featured back, but the notion is that Murray will be the starter. I like Murray as a backup option or possibly a FLEX in deeper leagues. We’ll continue to keep an eye on this team, and offer updates as necessary.
