Evgeni Malkin Makes Franchise History

On Sunday night, Pittsburgh Penguins center Evgeni Malkin surpassed Jaromir Jagr for third in all-time assists in franchise history. This season has been a bit of a resurgence for Malkin; he is currently tied for a team-high 43 points with Jake Guentzel.

The 33-year old will now have his sights set on other records set by Jagr. After retirement, Jagr finished with 439 goals and 1,079 points. For Malkin, he currently sits with 404 goals and 1,044 points. Although it’s improbable Malkin reaches those milestones this year, one would think he could surpass Jagr by next year.
