Detroit Lions tight end Eric Ebron looked poised for a breakout season, but that may be in jeopardy. The third year player out of UNC was carted off the field during Saturday’s Mock Game.

Ebron was big for the Lions during their incredible second half stretch run. He really helped bring the Lions to a point where they were possible playoff contenders. He totaled 47 receptions, 537 receiving yards, and 5 touchdowns. He carried most of the TE duties, as Brandon Pettigrew was battling injuries/siting out.

Now, Detroit needs to figure something out at TE if Ebron is shelved for an extended period of time. Pettigrew is also out as well, so Detroit really needs a tight end and badly. Whether they grab one of the remaining free agents or snag one through trade, they need one. Badly.
