As of Tuesday, the Detorit Tigers have released GM Dave Dombrowski of his contract, leaving assistant GM Al Avila to take his place.

Dombrowski was able to accomplish a lot of things in Detorit over the years,  except winning a World Series. Can Avila lead his organization to victory? It will take a lot now that the team has traded multiple pieces around in return for prospects and pitching.

Despite all of these moves being made, the Tigers find themselves sitting only 3 games back of the AL wild-card.

Dombrowski took over for the Tigers in 2002, and the team lost 100+ games that season. Although it sounds awful, Donbrowski and company have gone to two World Series’ and at one point, 3 straight ALCS matchup’s.
