Could Samoa Joe Secure the Universal Championship?

Samoa Joe, the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Television Champion, World Tag Team Champion, and X Division Champion, could possibly be within arms length of yet another belt to add to his legacy. The accomplished wrestler has been a household name over the years, but Samoa Joe will now seek to secure himself the Universal Championship at SummerSlam.
Since debuting in 1999 at the age of 20, most believed that Samoa Joe first signed with TNA, or even ROH. As a matter of fact, he actually first started off in a small company called UPW (Ultimate Pro Wrestling), which was the WWF’s former developmental program. During his tenure with UPW, Samoa Joe feuded with sixteen-time World Champion John Cena. Also during his stint with the developmental program, he got to be part of an episode of WWF Jakked in which he went on to face off against Essa Rios.
All in all, Samoa Joe went on to make history with his NXT career, as he was one of the first to win the NXT Championship on multiple occasions. In a brief summary, Samoa Joe may be one of the most accomplished wrestlers to come out of NXT.
To kick off his debuting WWE career, Seth Rollins found himself blindsided by Samoa Joe within an episode of RAW. Since being called up to the main roster, Samoa Joe has gotten to face the best the WWE could offer in Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt, and The Miz.
At WWE Extreme Rules, we got to see Samoa Joe face off against Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Finn Balor, and Bray Wyatt in an Extreme Rules Fatal Five-Way match. The winner would then become the #1 contender for Brock Lesnar’s WWE Universal Championship. At the end, Samoa Joe won in an astounding fashion.
On August 20th, SummerSlam is bound to become a must-watch event, as Brock Lesnar is set to defend his Universal Championship belt against Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns, and now Samoa Joe in a fatal four-way match.
Will Samoa Joe come away with the victory and shock the WWE universe? In doing so, he would become the fifth Universal Champion holder. In a match full of star-studded talent, Samoa Joe will need to give it everything he has.
