On Tuesday, it was confirmed by Ariel Helwani that Paulo Costa will be taking on Yoel Romero at UFC 241. The fight takes place in Anaheim on August 17th.

Costa is currently 12-0 with wins over former Welterweight Champion Johnny Hendricks and Uriah Hall along the way. He has won eleven of his fights by knockout and one by submission.  Since defeating Hall, Costa has been waiting to challenge Romero. Costa was previously suspended for six months after receiving an IV of over 100 mL on two occasions.

As for Romero, he is coming off a loss against Robert Whittaker at UFC 225. Due to Romero missing weight, the bout was not for a title. Romero was originally scheduled to fight Ronaldo Souza in a rematch, but due to an illness, the fight with Souza was given to Jack Hermansson.

This bout will be added to an already-stacked card that includes Daniel Cormier defending his Heavyweight Championship in a rematch against Stipe Miocic.
