On Tuesday night, it was announced that the Los Angeles Clippers have added Tyronn Lue as a top assistant. Earlier in the summer, Lue was the Lakers’ top candidate until talks ultimately broke down.
Lue was fired from the Cleveland Cavaliers after an 0-6 start to the 2018 season. He has made the Finals in each of his first three years. He has prior experience with current Clippers head coach Doc Rivers, as Lue was an assistant with the Celtics and Clippers from 2011-14.
The Clippers continue to make headlines this summer, as Lue provides experience and stability to the coaching staff. On paper, this is a team that every right to be labeled as a contender.
