On Sunday afternoon, it was reported by multiple sources that QB DJ Uiagalelei has committed to Clemson University. After attending St. John Bosco High School, Uiagalelei was clearly a top priority for the Tigers.

According to scouting reports by 247 Sports, Uiagalelei ranks #3 among 2020 High School prospects. Coming into the month, Clemson was already ranked as country’s top recruiting class.

“There were a lot of reasons why I chose Clemson,” Uiagalelei told 247Sports. “Like I’ve said before, I felt a spiritual connection with the entire coaching staff and especially coach (Dabo) Swinney when I first visited back in June”.

The other suitor for Uiagalelei happened to be Oregon, who currently sit with Senior QB Justin Herbet. According to mocks, Herbert is projected to become an early first-round selection in 2020.

With current Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence eligible for the 2021 NFL Draft, the expectation is that DJ Uiagalelei will develop off the bench until his number is called upon.
