Entering the 2019 season, Boston Red Sox SP Chris Sale will be paid like the elite starter he is. According to The Athletic, Sale has signed a 5-year, $145M extension to remain with the Red Sox.

In 27 starts last season, Chris Sale recorded 237 strikeouts, posted an ERA of 2.37, and totaled a 12-4 record. Despite the injuries, Sale was a huge factor in the Red Sox’s run to the World Series.

With Opening Day on the horizon, Boston has locked up their ace for the distant future. Since acquiring Sale, the Red Sox have been one of the most dominant forces in baseball.

Next on the priority list, look for names such as Rick Porcello, Jackie Bradly Jr, Andrew Benintendi, and Mookie Betts to enter contract negotiations.
