After the drama, and the back forth, the O’s and Chris Davis have finally came to  an agreement that’ll bring back Davis on a 7 year, $161 million contract. From the very beginning of the offseason, the O’s and Davis were always a perfect match. The Orioles really need Davis’s big bat in the lineup to really even things out with Adam Jones, and Manny Machado.  Plus, Davis is still at 29 years of age.

Not to say Chris Davis would not have been successful had he gone to another team, but Chris Davis did have his best seasons with Baltimore. In 4 seasons, plus 31 games from the year he was traded to Baltimore from Texas in 2011, Davis smacked a total of 161 homeruns, including 47 of those last season.

Though, it seemed like their relationship together was coming a close, Baltimore and Davis renewed their marriage for at least 7 more years. It will be interesting to see if the O’s still try and move on Yoenis Cespedes as well.
