On Sunday, Austin Jackson and the Chicago White Sox agreed to a one-year deal. The deal will be reportedly worth $5 million.

This is a great bargain for the White Sox, as they were in need of a defensive upgrade in the outfield. Current outfielder Adam Eaton has yet to play outfield in the Cactus League because of his shoulder surgery, and Jackson is known to be able to play just about anywhere out there.

Jackson is now 29 years old, looking to be a reliable asset for the Sox. Before being traded to the Cubs last season, Jackson spent a majority of his time with the Seattle Mariners.

On 527 plate appearances, Jackson batted with a line of .267/.311/.385. Of course he may have a similar amount of appearances this upcoming season (pending injuries), Jackson should aim to reach around .275 for a batting average.
