Chelsea Striker Diego Costa Dropped From Leicester Match

Diego Costa has been dropped from Chelsea’s squad for facing  Leicester due to a row with manager Antonio Conte. It is known he has not been training with the Chelsea’s first-team for the past three days when he was the subject of a £30m per-year offer from a club in the Chinese Super League.

The Spanish striker has become considerably unsettled by this approach from the Chinese Super League, which would make him one of the highest paid footballers in the world, the same goes for Carlos Tevez and former Chelsea Teammate Oscar. Since the offer, he has been in arguments with two fitness coaches, especially as Italian teams are supporting China.

The 28-year old Spanish international player did express his support for his current Chelsea teammates late last Friday night by posting an image on Instagram of their win over Tottenham in November 2016 with a quote of “come on Chelsea” and a heart emoji next to it.

This comes as a major dissapointment to the club, as the Premier League leaders look to get their title bid on a positive path at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening, after their recent 2-0 defeat to Tottenham, which occurred last week.

On SKY Sports, Graeme Souness said that “This is the very last thing Chelsea needs. He is playing out of his skin. They lose him and all of a sudden they are not going to win the Premier League” after the bid was placed.

Diego Costa joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid for £32m in early 2014, and the 28-year old has scored 50 goals for the team in all competitions.
