According to multiple sources, Toronto Blue Jays prospect Cavan Biggio, son of Hall of Famer Craig Biggio, will be called up to the major leagues on Friday. In addition to Biggio, the Blue Jays are also recalling utility man Lourdes Gurriel Jr, who is the brother of Astros’ Yuli Gurriel. Billy McKinley and Richard Urena will be optioned to Buffalo to make room for them on the roster. Sportsnet reporter Shi Davidi was the first to report the move.

Biggio, a second baseman, is expected to play a utility role for the team and is even expected to get time in the outfield. In 41 games this season for Buffalo, Biggio owned a .306/.440/.507 batting line and led the team in hits, runs, home runs and RBI. He also had five stolen bases and more walks than strikeouts on the year.
The Blue Jays will be the first team in MLB history to have multiple sons of Hall of Famers on a big league roster in a season, according to Elias Sports Bureau. With Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Cavan Biggio now on the major league roster, all eyes will be on Bo Bichette to get the call.
