After a disappointing tenure with Mickey Callaway which only lasted two seasons, the New York Mets fired Callaway and they don’t have to wait any longer on his replacement. On Friday, the team announced that Carlos Beltrán will become the next manager of the New York Mets. Beltrán will be the 22nd manager in Mets history. Beltrán also played for the team from 2005-2011

Despite a losing season last season, the team is surrounded by talented players like Noah Syndergaard, Jeff McNeil, and Peter Alonso. Even though there were experienced managers out there, the team decided to take a risk and bring in Carlos Beltrán who does not have any experience at being a manager.
