On Tuesday afternoon, it was announced that former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez has signed a contract with AAA, where he will make his professional wrestling debut at their TripleMania 27 event.

Velasquez recently made his return to the octagon in January after a 2-year layoff, where he suffered an early KO loss to Francis Ngannou at UFC: Phoenix.

With a record of 13-3, Velasquez has made the most of his career in MMA. He holds wins over talents such as Cheick Kongo, Ben Rothwell, and Brock Lesnar.

Velasquez is a former 2-time UFC Heavyweight Champion, and with his unexpected jump to professional wrestling, he should fit right in. Most do not realize that Velasquez is a NJCAA National Champion, with a record of 86-5 at Arizona State University

With an opponent to be named at a later time, Velasquez will be training to make his AAA debut. The event will kick off on Saturday, August 3rd.
