On Monday, it was reported that the Cleveland Browns have signed free agent running back Kareem Hunt. The deal is worth up to $1M, and after the 2019 season, he will become a restricted free agent.
Hunt, who previously underwent a stint with the Kansas City Chiefs, was released due to a domestic incident. Prior, the running back totaled a league-high 1,327 rushing yards in 2017. In 27 games, Hunt has found the end zone 25 times.
Other franchises, including the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears, were rumored to be interested in Hunt’s services. With Nick Chubb and Duke Johnson signed through the 2021 season, this move comes as a shock to many.
The Cleveland Browns ranked 14th in rushing yards per game last season with 118.3 yards per game.
