According to reports, former UFC Fighter and current WWE Superstar Brock Lesnar is looking to return to the octagon for UFC 200. Both sides are close to agreeing on a deal to have Lesnar fight at the event on July 9th. Lesnar last fought in the UFC at UFC 141 in 2011, losing to Alistair Overeem.

In his short stint in the UFC, Lesnar had a record of 5-3, winning three matches by knockout, one by submission, and one by decision. Lesnar also held the UFC Heavyweight championship, winning it in his fourth fight in the company. Lesnar’s stint in the UFC, even though it was short, was very entertaining.

He proved that he could make an impact in the sport of MMA. He has very strong hands, great knockout power, great standup game. He can also take the match to the ground thanks to his wrestling background.

For the UFC, this is big news for them. One of the companies biggest draws wants to come back for quite possibly the biggest show in company history.

If both sides can come to an agreement, this could be good for the UFC. The company knows how much of a draw that Lesnar is to the company, so getting Lesnar on one of the biggest shows of the year, would mean more money for the company in pay per view buys and ticket sales if the event is not sold out yet.

A lot of media attention would be drawn to this event, since this is the first time the guy is fighting in the UFC in almost 5 years.

If you are a fan of MMA, this is big news for you. During his first stint with the company, one thing was noticed he knew how to connect with the crowd making him a very popular fighter among the fans. Fans will be excited to see him fight one more time in the octagon.

On the WWE side of things, this is not a good thing. UFC 200 is in July, which is one month before one of the biggest shows of the year, SummerSlam. If Lesnar does compete at UFC 200, what would this mean for his role at SummerSlam? One thing that could happen is the WWE might just pull Lesnar from the event, since it might be too late for him to come in and build for his feud for the event. This will be an interesting thing to watch in the coming months.
