In a turn of events, the UFC will no longer be pursuing a fight between UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar. Per Ariel Helwani and Brett Okamoto, Lesnar has told UFC President Dana White that he intends to retire from the UFC.

Lesnar recently lost his WWE Universal title to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 35. His advocate, Paul Heyman, stated they were going to Las Vegas to meet with White. However, since April 7th, nothing has been announced or mentioned.

Cormier defeated Stipe Miocic for the Heavyweight title at UFC 226 and after Lesnar retired, the UFC officially booked the two heavyweight veterans to a rematch on August 17th.
