On Wednesday, it was reported that the Featherweight championship bout between reigning and defending champion Max Holloway and Brian Ortega has been officially called off due to Holloway pulling out.
Since late last week, Holloway wasn’t feeling well and was undergoing concussion-like symptoms. After his open workout to promote his fight with Ortega for Saturday night, Holloway collapsed, and it was difficult for him to wake him. When he eventually woke up, Holloway had difficulty speaking.
The co-main event is officially off, unless the UFC can find a last-second replacement for Holloway, which seems nearly impossible at this time.
