According to Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi, shortstop Bo Bichette, the no. 8 overall prospect, will join Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Cavan Biggio in the Majors. Bichette suffered a broken left hand back on April 22 after taking a fastball from Syracuse left-hander Hector Santiago. He returned June 7 at Class A Advanced Dunedin, where he hit .545 in four games before heading back to Buffalo on June 12. Bichette has hit .277/.336/.477 with 16 doubles, 32 RBI, and 15 stolen bases in 55 games with the Bisons this season.

Bichette was lifted from Triple-A Buffalo’s game at Durham with one out in the bottom of the third inning. Upon reaching the dugout, he was congratulated by teammates.

The move comes after the Blue Jays traded Eric Sogard to the Rays and dealt Marcus Stroman to the Mets for prospects Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods Richardson, which opened up two spots on the big league roster. With Bichette, Biggio and Guerrero all now called up the Blue Jays infield has a bright future ahead of it.
