Blake Griffin Injures Hand In Fight
The Clippers have a stretch of road games this week. What made them special is that F Blake Griffin was supposed to return from an injury he’s had since Christmas. However, news came out early morning on January 26th, 2016 that Blake Griffin had fractured his hand and would require surgery, keeping him out 4-6 weeks.
Then, reports came out that Blake Griffin was injured in a fight with a team equipment assistant. The two were friends and had even gone on vacation together. It’s said things got heated in a restaurant in Toronto when Griffin threw the punch. The assistant went outside where Griffin would follow him and punch him a second time. Not only will Griffin be out 4-6 weeks, he could also be facing punishment by the league. Griffin is known to get very heated on the court.
At 7:55pm CST, Griffin took to Twitter to apologize. He said, “A situation among friend escalated and I regret the way I handled myself towards someone I care about. I want to apologize to the Clippers organization, my teammates, and the fans for creating a distraction. I am working with the team for resolution and getting back in the game as soon as possible.” While he apologized, many fans are not buying it. Time will only tell if things do change.
