Aroldis Chapman Debuts With Yankees In 6-3 Win

On Monday night, the New York Yankees took on the slumping Kansas City Royals, but the real story was behind Yankees reliever Aroldis Chapman being activated after his 30-game suspension by the MLB.

With the seats filled and the popcorn buckets filled, Chapman took the mound with the Yankees leading 6-2 in the ninth inning. All of a sudden, Chapman was hitting triple digits (as usual).

Even though the Yankees crowd knew Chapman could throw heat, no one has quite seen this circus act in person before. In fact, 7 of Chapman’s 17 pitches in the inning clocked in over 100 mph.

While Chapman would allow an earned run over two hits, the Yankees crowd could not be any more pleased than they were on Monday night.

The Yankees are still in a slump of their own, sitting last in the AL East currently. The problem does not seem to be in the bullpen as it does in their batting ability. With that being said, the Yankees are 10-0 when they have the lead heading into the seventh inning.

With Chapman’s return, this should be able to boost the Yankees into a positive mindset as their bullpen becomes one of the best in the league.
